In 2022, Port Perry Pedals raised $20,000 for local charities. This remarkable amount was equally divided between two deserving organizations: Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham and Grandview Kids Foundation.

Oak Ridges Hospice is a community-based hospice organization that provides compassionate care and support out of the Morgan & Sidhu House, located in Port Perry, Ontario. Our hospice residence serves every community in the Regional Municipality of Durham and is currently the only hospice residence in the region.

For those living with a life-limiting illness, or providing care for a loved one as they near end-of-life, our hospice offers a much-needed alternative to institutional care facilities and home care. Oak Ridges Hospice is a tranquil, home-like residence where a dedicated team of specially trained medical, nursing, support staff and volunteers provide compassionate care and comfort, at no cost to the resident or their loved ones.

Grandview Kids is a non-for-profit organization founded in 1953, serving as the only Children's Treatment Centre in Durham Region. They offer specialized programs, clinical treatment, and support to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs, as well as their families. With a focus on family-centered care, Grandview Kids provides assessments, therapies, access to specialists, and actively engages in research and teaching. Their vision is to help every child reach their full potential, while their values encompass caring, trust, innovation, accountability, and excellence. Through continuous growth and a forthcoming new facility, Grandview Kids is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the community.

Port Perry Pedals thanks all participants, donors, and sponsors for their continued support.

Territorial acknowledgement

Port Perry Pedals acknowledges the Treaty and Traditional Territories of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and the Mississauga peoples. We are grateful to engage our work, and ride our routes on lands that are situated within the Williams Treaties and pre-confederation Treaties.

We acknowledge the land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for it since time immemorial. The settlement of these lands has been marked by poor treatment of Indigenous peoples and we commit to working with them towards a shared understanding of truth and reconciliation.
